Glastonbury Big Screen – Expanding the network of London 2012 Live Sites around the UK, London 2012 and the Cultural Olympiad have secured a double sided screen at Glastonbury Festival, to run during the festival 24-28 June 2009. The screen is a partnership between LOCOG (London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, the BBC and Glastonbury Festival. The screen will have its own Screen manager for the duration of the festival, who will be responsible for developing, approving and editing content for the screen.   Glastonbury Festival has an audience of 350,000, and the screen offers an opportunity to showcase the best of the UK’s film & new media work to festival goers and BBC viewers of the Festival. The 2012 screen is at the “meeting point” at the festival, one of the busiest points of the site.

In the North East, we are undertaking an open call; submissions will then be selected by a panel made up of Northern Film & Media, Arts Council England NE and the London 2012 Creative Programmer in the North East.   Attached are a briefing paper and a film submission form for you to submit your work for consideration for inclusion on the Glastonbury Big Screen.
