North East Commission’s 14-19 Youth Advisory Board (YAB)

The first year was a great success with the YAB producing some brilliant pieces of work. The North East Commission’s 14 – 19 Youth Advisory Board developed their own website/virtual portal, did projects such as case studies to promote young people’s opinions, were trained as young advisors and even planned and delivered their own conference!

One of the main objectives for 2009/2010  is to increase the size of the YAB for up and coming projects. For more information please contact neil@rywu.org.uk

Event – Pornography and Young People: What’s the deal

Streetwise are offering training for professionals working with young people, Friday 29th May2009 or Friday 30th October 2009, 10:00-4:00pm.  Venue to be confirmed, Newcastle upon Tyne

Aims of the course are to explore the context of pornography in relation to young people and sexual health. Including:- Pornography and the law (inc changes to law Jan 2009), Trends in the use of pornography by young people, How pornography affects young people’s attitudes and decisions about sex, How professionals can address issues of pornography with young people.  To receive a booking form please email: aylssa@streetwisenorth.co.uk
