The Diamond Model in Darlington held its fifth meeting on Friday, 20th January. The group welcomed a new member, Patchwork People, a social enterprise based in the area. Based on all the information collected and the views of all the partners, the group have now decided to explore the possibility of establishing a training and enterprise resource on the Branksome estate.

In Gateshead,  the Big Local meeting in the Teams area was attended, and presented information about the Diamond Model. It is hoped that the Diamond Model will link closely with the Big Local programme, as it progesses over the coming months.

The first full meeting of the Diamond Model in Gateshead will take place on 9th February, at the GVOC offices.

Darlington Community Consultation

Last week, the Unit carried out another community consultation exercise on the Branksome Estate. Leon and David Regan, a local councillor and member of the Diamond Group, spend some time on the estate talking to both young people and older members of the community. The findings from the day will contribute to the information gathering exercise for the Diamond model, and help to inform the development of the project.
