Regional Forum for Voluntary Youth Organisations (RFVYO)
The RFVYO exists to support the voluntary youth sector and the development of best practice within the sector in the North East. It strives to be:
- A collective voice for the voluntary youth sector in the North East;
- A conduit through which local voluntary youth sector forums can have representation at a regional and national level;
- A point of reference for local, regional and national voluntary youth organisations;
- A grouping through which national and regional bodies can consult and liaise with local voluntary youth sector services across the North East;
- A place where members can raise issues, share problems and offer support to colleagues;
- An inclusive group, that has representation from all the 12 local authority areas in the North East, as well as representatives from regional youth organisations;
- A group that works within an Equal Opportunities framework, and fully supports equality of opportunities;
- A group that supports appropriate voluntary sector representation. The
RFVYO will support representatives who bring a wider voluntary sector perspective to their role. We will not support representatives who exercise flagrant self-interest or the interests of a particular organisation.
Membership of the RFVYO is drawn from local voluntary youth sector forums, regional and sub-regional youth organisations, and individuals co-opted from other organisations.
