Network Update

The Unit is a founding member of the Network of RYWU: England. The Network was established in May 2008 and originally included eight of the nine English regions. The key purpose of the Network is for the promotion and support of RYWUs in developing youth work and services to young people. The Network supports and strengthens the capacity of the RYWUs, and promotes the development of best practice amongst Units in the English regions. The Network works with a number of regional and national partners to develop new practices of work and funding bids.

In the past 12 months, the network has developed several funding bids in conjunction with national partners, as well as being part of national programmes such as Progress and FPM training. The Network has also offered network support to those units who have been confronted with greater hardships.

Unfortunately we have now lost three units, South East, North West and Eastern, but we hope the others will continue to go from strength to strength.
