Statutory Youth Service Manager of the Year
This award was open to any individual who has demonstrated proven success in managing and developing a team in the statutory youth service, and proved his/her worth over and above the job description. The emphasis is on the personal and individual contribution and how this contribution has made a difference. The award aims to recognise the quality of the individual’s work, his/her managerial skills, achievements and the on-going benefits to the statutory youth service.
And the winner was:
Maurice Bransfield

Maurice has been working for Northumberland Youth Service in a variety of roles for the last 10 years. He has been the manager of the service since 2006. First and foremost Maurice is a youth worker with over 30 years worth of experience. He has used this experience to build a relationship with his entire staff team that essentially focuses on them being given the tools and motivation to do the best they possibly can to deliver excellent youth work.
Maurice communicates and works with young people and is indeed involved with several ‘county-wide’ youth work initiatives delivering to young people.
Maurice has led the youth service to become highly effective and efficient and built up the evidence to conclude that it is the best way of delivering high quality services to young people.
